The
photographer was also the leader, so we got no shots of people doing the
vigil. We were going to start outside, but it was so windy we couldn’t
light the candles.
Our central image was the stone memorial at San Jose de Apartadó – 158 children of God and witnesses for peace slain for refusing to say yes to violence. The stones we used were mostly from the stream in the meadow below where we used to live. Gathering them was a time of good reflection for me, thinking about what they were to be used to symbolize. |
