Chorus:
Let us go now to the banquet,
To the feast of the universe.
The table's set and a place is waiting
Come, everyone, with your gifts to share

1. I will rise in the early morning.
This community is waiting for me.
With a spring in my step I'm walking
With my friends and family.

2. We are coming from Putumayo,
El Choco and from Bogota,
Buenaventura, Cuidad Bolivar,
Santa Marta and Medellin.*

3. God invites all the poor and the hungry
To the banquet of justice and good.
Where the harvest will not be hoarded,
So that no one will lack for food.

4. May we build such a place among us
Where all people are equal in love.
God has called us to work together
And to share everything we have.

Statement of the Occasion
Procession of Representatives of the Faith Traditions to the Table "O For a World"

Hymn/Song, "Senor, Ten Piedad" "Have Mercy, O God"

Chorus
Have mercy, oh God.
Have mercy, oh God.
On you people have mercy.
Have mercy, oh God

1. When Abel was dying God heard his blood flow,
and Moses was moved by the tears of the poor.
But now there are some who would silence our cries,
And drown all our voices in rivers of lies.

2. This pain of injustice is heavy, oh God.
Be with us, our people, the salt of the earth.
Their tanks and their boot come with fury to smash
Whoever dares speak up on other's behalf

Offertory Music "La Plegaria" Victor Jara

Lift up your eyes, And look beyond the mountains.
There dawns the sun,
The flow of wind and water.
You, who trace courses
Of rivers through the hill-sides.
You, who have sown
The rising of Your soul.

Stand up and see,
Your hands so strong and weathered.
Set free to grow,
We weave our arms together.
Blood now, will bind us
United in the struggle.
Now is the moment,
That cries out for tomorrow.

Stand up an see
Your hands so strong and weathered.
Set free and grow,
We weave our arms together.
Blood now will bind us,
united in the struggle.
Now is the moment,
we stand or die together.
Amen. Amen!

Unison Prayer of Commitment

The journey toward peace is one in which the end is not known at the beginning. The journey cannot be made by flying over the conflict, or driving past it. Those paths are tempting, but in the end futile. Only by walking through conflict with the people who are living it -- sharing the dust and fatigue, stumbling and starting again, weeping with those who weep, and rejoicing with those who rejoice -- can transformation be reached.
So, we commit ourselves to walking together and with people around the world on the footpaths to Truth and Mercy, Justice and Peace.*

Sending Forth

Left Side: We have come to end the violence
Right Side: We have come to end the silence
Unison: Still we sing, still we pray, still we dream, still we hope

Left side: We have come to break the terror
Right side: We have come to build community
Unison: Still we sing, still we pray, still we dream, still we hope

Left side We have come to heal the wounded
Right side We have come to help each other.

Unison We will work for a world that is safe, just, and joyful
The end of terror, the triumph of courage, the building of peace
We will open ourselves to the sources of hope and power and love
Still we sing, still we pray, still we dream, still we hope

Closing Song Siyahamba (South African Freedom Song)

Si-ya-hambb' e-ku-kha-nyen' kwen-khos'
Si-ya-hambb' e-ku-kha-nyen' kwen-khos' (2 times)
si-ya-ham -ba, ham-ba, si-ya-hamba, ham-ba (2 times)

We are marching in the light of God ( 2 times)

We are marching, we are marching, we are marching in the light of God ( 2 times)

Pars crecer, estrechala tu hermano.

Unisono: Todavia cantamos, todavia pedimos, Todavia sonamos, todavia esperamos
Lado izquierdo: Hemos venido a sanar el herido
Lado derecho: Hemos venido a ayudarnos mutuamente
